John – no sooner had we hit send on yesterday’s email when we saw this news:

America First Action (the shady group we mentioned below) is dropping ANOTHER $2.26 million on ads targeting Democratic House members, including Matt.

We have to ask, John: Can you rush a contribution to help us combat this influx of dark money into PA-08? [[link removed]]

With folks home for the holidays catching up on their favorite shows with family, these ads will no doubt be seen on TV in every corner of the district. We need to be able to push back.

The Republican National Committee (RNC) and other conservative groups already have spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on ads against Matt.

Here are the numbers: The RNC spent $138,050 on 244 TV ads across PA-08 in October. America First Policies – a shady GOP organization – also spent $59,474 on 250 TV ads that month. In November, we saw another group spend $110,231 on 597 ads across the district.

John, that’s a whole lot of money this early in the race. It’s critically important that we have the funds to fight back NOW, so we don’t have to wait until 2020 when voters head to the polls.

We have to post a huge fundraising number at the end of the year to prove that we have what it takes to compete with the outside money we’re already seeing flood this district. If we can’t match what National Republican groups are dropping, we won’t be seen as competitive and the GOP will think they can take this seat.
