When Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced a formal impeachment inquiry into President Trump's behavior, a deluge of breaking news flooded national media outlets. Shortly after, we learned from multiple sources that the president not only asked Ukraine to interfere in our elections but also bribed them to do it by withholding key military aid.

However, events in the impeachment inquiry unfold very quickly and new details emerge every day. To fully understand the impeachment inquiry, we thought we'd share this short explainer.

He extorted the Ukrainian government by offering a White House meeting in exchange for investigations into his political opponents and was caught red-handed. His actions were both wrong and illegal and the president should be held accountable.

Today, the House Judiciary Committee kicked off its first public impeachment hearing featuring constitutional scholars from four prominent universities who made their cases as to whether or not Trump's actions should be considered impeachable offenses.
