Simply put: more guns in public means more gun violence. Not only do guns in public spaces increase the risk of violence, but they also increase the fear and anxiety people feel in public. This decreased sense of safety can lead more people to purchase firearms, perpetuating an ever-escalating cycle of violence.
We refuse to accept this as the beginning of the end of commonsense gun laws. The Alliance will continue fighting in the courts, in the legislature, and at the ballot box to demand action to keep our schools and communities safe.
That’s why I am asking you to make a contribution today to support our lifesaving efforts and help us meet our end of second quarter fundraising goal. Can you pitch in $5 before midnight tomorrow?
Make no mistake, this decision is a huge win for gun rights extremists. We can either fight back now or watch them ride this momentum all the way to the midterms.
Thank you for not giving up,
Renée (she/her)
