John,

This year’s GOP slate has it all: bans on abortion, transphobia, racism, and comments comparing Gov. Mills to Nazi doctors.

Paul LePage recently headlined a fundraiser for Heidi Sampson, who once called Gov. Mills and her sister "reincarnations of Joseph Mengele” – a famous Nazi war criminal – and said that vaccines were “crimes against humanity” in violation of the Nuremburg code.

It’s important to note, Heidi Sampson is currently a Maine State Representative. Not only does she have a history of antisemitic, unhinged rhetoric, but she would immediately join in with other GOP candidates in banning abortion, demonizing LGBTQ+ Mainers, and undermining our public schools.

Conspiracy theorists have no place in Maine politics, but Republicans seem to disagree. We need to hit our goal by the FEC’s midnight deadline if we want to stop this takeover and protect our neighbors. Can you pitch in $5 now? [link removed]

Sampson’s comments are offensive to actual Holocaust survivors. At a time when people around the state were dying from COVID and we weren’t sure what was next, Gov. Mills led the charge on public health and vaccine initiatives to keep us safe.

This is the type of pragmatic leadership we need — people who are willing to get to work and do whatever they can to help Maine. But, we’ve seen time and time again that the GOP is more concerned with spreading conspiracy theories and ranting on Facebook than helping out the communities they claim to represent.

Today is your last chance to help us meet our $5,000 FEC end-of-quarter goal. Whether it’s Heather Ann Sprague, Heidi Sampson, Paul LePage, or any of the other dangerous and dishonest GOP candidates, we can’t stop them without you. Rush in $5. [link removed]

Thank you,
