Before today is over, we'll lose
another 6,000 acres of land to real estate development.

But the loss takes a toll that is
higher than we can calculate.

Without access to public lands, we
aren't able to fulfil our fundamental human need of connection
to the outdoors, which is essential to our health and well-being.

Without the green space parks provide,
areas are more vulnerable to flooding, severe heat, and the effects of
the climate crisis. Without places to gather, residents miss out on
opportunities to connect and grow stronger. These are some of the
reasons we deliberately focus our work in communities where parks and
public lands are needed most.
