It's official: Donald Trump has withdrawn the United States from the Paris Climate Agreement.

As the Washington Post painfully notes, it's "a move that will leave the world's second-largest emitter of greenhouse gases as the only nation to abandon the global effort to combat climate change."

Shameful. Utterly, utterly shameful.

Not that we should be surprised. Donald Trump and his administration has long shunned science, reason, and decency when it comes to protecting our environment.

*Donald Trump packed the EPA with friends of polluters and deniers of climate science.

*They want to open our coastal waters to endless oil drilling.

*Trump has opened up hundreds of thousands of acres of federal land for oil and gas development.

*They turned their backs on Puerto Rico after the devastation of Hurricane Maria.

*They threatened to pull federal aid from California as massive fires -- exacerbated by climate chaos -- ravaged communities there.

*They're going to court to try to roll back stricter automobile pollution standards (a move many in the auto industry don't even want).

I can go on and on.

Donald Trump's presidency is a disaster for many reasons. His willful, painful ignorance when it comes to our environment and the survival of our planet must always be challenged.

In 2020, we will fight back. We will win. And we will get America back on track to tackle the climate crisis.

Onward!

Jeff
