I won’t mince words: We’re down to the wire, and we need your help to meet our goal.

Today’s the last day of our 10th anniversary campaign, and you’re getting this email because you read PublicSource stories, but you’re not currently a supporting member. We still haven't met our goal, and we need people like you to step up if we’re going to close our fundraising gap.
As an independent newsroom, we don’t have an owner or shareholders with deep pockets to keep us afloat (and whose wealth can influence what we cover). But the trade-off is that we have to find our own financial backing. This bold new model for journalism only works if those who can afford to contribute help cover the costs of our community-focused reporting.
We can’t stress this enough: Our stories are free to read, but not free to produce.
We understand that not everyone can afford to make a gift. But many of you have the ability to make a meaningful contribution. If you have the means to make a one-time gift of $50 to $100, or chip in $5 to $10/month, please know that these gifts have an immense impact on what our small, passionate team can accomplish.
Importantly, your gift also means that your neighbors in the region with fewer resources will continue to be informed on what’s happening around them — from the building going up across the street to what’s in their air and water to what’s happening at their child’s school.
