Should Dreamers be deported?
That was the question before the House five years ago today. Cory Gardner—then on his way to the Senate—voted yes.
Gardner was not alone. All but 10 Republicans voted to subject Dreamers to deportation and stop President Obama from renewing DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals).
When I replace Cory Gardner in 2021, I’ll do everything I can to protect DACA recipients and enact comprehensive immigration reform.
But we can’t wait until then.
Tell Cory Gardner to demand a vote on the Dream and Promise Act today.

It’s now been
six months since the House passed that legislation. The Dream and Promise Act would provide permanent legal protection and a path to citizenship for more than 2 million Americans, including nearly 40,000 here in Colorado.
The Senate has done … nothing. Mitch McConnell refuses to allow a vote or even a hearing on the bill, and Gardner refuses to tell us where he stands.
That’s outrageous. Tell Cory Gardner to support the Dream and Promise Act and demand a vote today.

This cause is deeply personal to me. I would not be in the United States if this country had not opened its doors to my mother and all four of my grandparents.
I know from my own family’s experience and from so many others’ that immigration makes America richer in every way.
Let’s send that message to Cory Gardner and Mitch McConnell today.
