36 Countries Are Gaining More Trees than They’re Losing 

New data from researchers at WRI and University of Maryland shows that 130.9 million hectares of land gained tree cover between 2000 and 2020 — an area larger than Peru. While the world is still losing more forests than it’s growing, hotspots of tree cover gain can inform restoration efforts. ​​​​Learn more.
