This was my response.
Monday evening, while I was on the train back to DC after visiting the United Nations, I took some questions from our A-Team on Instagram. One supporter asked: “What gives you hope for the future?”
Here’s what I said:
“When I see movement building that is multi-generational, inclusive, diverse and intersectional, I really feel like organizing silos are breaking down in a good way. We’re recognizing that our destinies are tied — and that’s not some kind of bumper sticker, that’s a real imperative and a call to action for all of us.”
That’s what gives me hope for the future. And it’s because of your support that we are able to keep building this intersectional movement that is rooted in justice.
Folks are chipping in $5, $10, or even $27 dollars at a time because they believe in our movement — I don’t do a single minute of call time asking for big checks. This movement is powered by you.
If our intersectional movement gives you hope for the future — and you can afford it — please make a contribution of $3 today to help build this campaign.

Thank you being on the A-Team. I am so grateful for your support.
In solidarity,
