Congress will vote on the Butch Lewis Act this week to help save the pensions of over one million union members and retirees, including some of our UAW brothers and sisters.
The bill would create a federal loan program for multiemployer pension plans that could become insolvent, stabilizing the plans and ensuring retirees get the security they earned.
Call your member of Congress at 1-866-287-6350 and tell them to support the Butch Lewis Act to give our union brothers and sisters the retirement security they worked so hard to earn.
Congress bailed out the banks and Wall St in 2008, but now some folks in Congress don’t think we should spend a dime to rescue the retirement security of union brothers and sisters who played by the rules and deserve to retire in dignity.
