Team, throughout the January 6 hearings, we’ve heard testimonies from people across the aisle with whom I disagree on many things, but whose courage in speaking the truth is admirable.

Lawyers from the Department of Justice, cabinet members, and perhaps in the most revealing testimony, a young woman who dedicated her life to public service, have all done their patriotic duty by revealing how Trump and his cronies coordinated a coup attempt.

Kevin McCarthy and MAGA Republicans may call themselves patriots, but we all know they are anything but that. When called upon by the committee, they refused to cooperate, continued to perpetuate the Big Lie, and fixated on what they’ve always cared about most: Power.

Folks, the hearings are a reminder that we cannot let election deniers take control of the House and Senate this November. We must protect and expand our razor-thin majority and defend American democracy from Trump endorsed cronies running for Congress.

Cassidy Hutchinson’s testimony yesterday was a powerful reminder that loving your country is about doing the right thing and calling out those who threaten the foundation of our democracy.

When Kevin McCarthy was given the opportunity to do his patriotic duty and cooperate with the investigation, he doubled down and sided with Trump’s assault on American Democracy.

This November, we must defend our majority against extremists who won’t hesitate to attack our institutions for the sake of power. We must elect Democrats up and down the ballot, fight back against Trump’s cronies, and protect our democracy from another far-right assault.
