Parliamentary News Update



National Party Leader, Christopher Luxon was well-received recently during his visit to Taupō. 



We caught up with social service agencies and volunteers in celebration of Volunteer Week, <[link removed]> and there was an opportunity for the local business community to mix and mingle with Chris at a Business After 5 event.



Chris also visited Taupo Nui-a-Tia College, where he spoke to students and staff about leadership.



Youth Parliament is taking place in Wellington on 19 - 21 July.  Youth MP Sophia Goodrich outlined plans for a youth community project that facilitates free swimming lessons for underprivileged students at our second Youth Advisory Board meeting that took place this week.  She will also be taking her peers' views on various issues facing our youth to Youth Parliament later this month.



With school holidays looming, Parliament is going into recess in July for three weeks. It means August and September are shaping to be busy months full of exciting events.  They include several ways you can engage with me through our monthly Facebook Live event, constituent clinics and Friendly Forums, as outlined below. 



I am also planning a series of Into Work Workshops to bring together employers looking for staff with organisations that support people with finding jobs. Our first meeting will take place in July. If you are an employer looking for staff, or an organisation supporting people into jobs, please feel free to email me your interest in joining the workshops.  



Our next Women Influencers meeting will take place in September.
