At a candidate forum hosted by The Tennessean last month, the moderator asked Odessa “If you could possess one superpower, what would it be and why?” Guess what she said:
“I would give all men uteruses, and the ability to get pregnant and have babies, that way they would respect women to have autonomy of our bodies more.”
Our rights are under attack from a radical GOP that wants to control the way people live. From the right to an abortion, to the right to vote, to LGBTQ rights, there’s nothing they won’t attack. Odessa’s running this grassroots campaign so we can fight back.
The nutjobs in the Tennessee Republican Party, the extremists appointed for life on the Supreme Court, and, unfortunately, our current representative Mark Green are way more interested in dividing us up, telling people how to live and who to hate, rather than making this country work for working people.
Odessa’s in this race to give voice and power to people who’ve been left behind by our political process — rural, urban, Black, brown, white, working class, LGTBQ, women, immigrants — we mean it, EVERYBODY.
