Folks,
There’s a clip making its rounds of my Republican opponent Sarah Huckabee Sanders in which she says, “We will make sure that when a kid is in the womb, they’re as safe as they are in the classroom…”
Well, I don’t know if Sarah’s been watching much of the news lately, but recent events have shown that our children aren’t very safe at their schools right now either, and given her rhetoric around all of this, if she becomes Arkansas’ next governor, that’s not likely to change any time soon.
There is a better way to govern — one built on Faith, Hope and Hard Work — and we’re here to show that it’s not only possible but required if we’re going to make a better state for the next generation of Arkansans. Our state deserves much better than what my opponent has to offer, and that’s why we’re looking to win in November and make concrete changes for Arkansas families.
Our end-of-quarter deadline is tomorrow, and it’s critical that we raise the resources we need to organize and show that people in Philadelphia and across the country believe in our positive vision for Arkansas. Can you pitch in $20 and help us win this governor’s race?
That statement is but one example of how out of touch my Republican opponent continues to be on the concerns of everyday Arkansans.
Once I’m governor, children and families will actually be at the top of our state's priorities — but not through empty and misguided talking points, but with actual policy solutions: like providing all children access to high-quality preschool while also reducing unnecessary gun violence.
Abortion is a deeply personal and highly charged issue. Everyone has a strong point of view, but it remains a personal issue. I plainly believe that people should safely and readily access healthcare and plan their families without fear of undue interference or intimidation by the state.
Those are just a few measures we can take to actually lead for our children, Arkansas families, and their futures. All Sarah Huckabee Sanders has to offer on that front is a bunch of empty words and not much more. Our children will be no safer with her as governor, and that by itself makes her unfit for this role. We've got the power to ensure that doesn’t happen.
If you’re able, please consider contributing $20 or anything else you can spare ahead of our end-of-quarter deadline. Let’s show our opponents just how far we can take this campaign.
Let’s go!
