Team,
Tomorrow (!!) is our end-of-quarter deadline – and with the stakes made even higher by the recent SCOTUS decision – it’s an important one. That’s why we wanted to make sure you saw Elissa’s email earlier with a full breakdown of the road ahead and what we’re up against.
We’ll let her explain, but long story short, this is one the most competitive House races in the entire country. That means we’re in for a tough fight, but we’ve handled tough fights before with the help of our grassroots supporters.
You can read more below, and if you’d chip in $5, $10, or $15 before tomorrow’s deadline, we’d be grateful! [[link removed]]

Team Slotkin
Team,
As we close out the end of June and continue to process the Supreme Court’s reversal of Roe V. Wade, I wanted to take a moment to take stock of where things stand in Michigan’s new 7th district.
I’ve always been a numbers person. I run my campaign with the knowledge of where we’ve been, how we got there, and what we need to do to achieve our goals. So with our end-of-quarter deadline approaching on June 30th, I thought it was a perfect time to take a look at some numbers from my last two races, and how they can inform the fight ahead.
We’ll start at the beginning – when I first ran for office back in 2018:
*
1,500
volunteers,
making
up
the
largest
Democratic
field
campaign
in
the
Midwest
*
200,000
doors
knocked,
307,130
texts
sent,
1
million
phone
calls
to
get
out
the
vote
*
13,098
vote
victory
Then it was on to 2020, where COVID completely upended campaigning as we know it. There’s no playbook to running a campaign during a global pandemic, which just goes to show what a feat we pulled off:
*
Nearly
2,000
volunteers,
many
virtual
*
Over
50,000
informational
flyers
left
at
doors
(the
2020
version
of
door-knocking
that
we
nicknamed
“contactless
canvasing”),
half
a
million
texts
sent,
and
nearly
1
million
phone
calls
to
get
out
the
vote
*
19
outdoor
community
events
*
15,412
vote
victory
(while
Trump
won
this
district
by
0.8%)
So, with that in mind, let’s take a look at where we are today.
We have a brand-new district to compete in, meaning I’ve gone from running in 2.5 counties to running in 7 counties. That means I’m no longer running to represent some of the incredible Team Slotkin volunteers that have helped us pull off two victories in North Oakland county. It’s a huge loss, but we’re building our network in the new areas of the district. Recently, over 300 volunteers helped us collect 5,000 nominating petition signatures from all 7 counties to get my name on the ballot. And we’ve already had volunteers knock on over 4,000 doors and make over 3,000 phone calls – and it’s only June.
But those aren’t the only numbers we watch. Over $2 million has already been spent in negative digital and television ads against me this year, and a whopping $6.5 million (!) in negative television ads have been reserved for the fall. One outside group in particular, the Congressional Leadership Fund, has spent 3 times more against me already than that had at this point in 2020.
I’ve told you before that my race is the most competitive in Michigan, and one of the most competitive in the entire country – and the proof is in the numbers.
How did we succeed in the past? By securing the resources we needed to succeed well in advance. Deploying yard signs, contacting voters, combating negative ads, and assembling the largest Democratic field campaign in the Midwest takes a lot of time, and a lot of resources. Replicating our success in a brand new district that’s 1,310 square miles larger than the area I currently represent is going to require even more.
That’s why I’m asking if you will chip in before our end-of-quarter deadline on June 30th to help me compete in one of the most competitive House races in the country. [[link removed]]
