CCL’s work will help meet America’s Paris commitment
A recent study by the journal Science highlighted the policy areas that need to be passed so that the United States reaches its Paris commitment by 2050. The policy areas emphasized include the deployment of solar panels, wind turbines, electric vehicles (EVs), trees, heat pumps, insulation, and measures to significantly curb the emissions of other potent greenhouse gases like methane. CCL’s recent policy expansion means that we’re in a position to lower emissions in all of these key areas. CCL Research Coordinator Dana Nuccitelli summarized the journal’s findings in his latest blog post. “CCL’s advocacy efforts for a carbon price, building the clean energy economy, and nature-based solutions are directed at precisely the sectors and policies needed to meet America’s Paris commitment,” Dana writes. “With such a rapid acceleration in emissions cuts needed in such a short period of time, each component will be critical in meeting our targets.”
