This week, a former Trump aide testified that Donald Trump wanted an ARMED crowd at his January 6 rally.
Trump called for the removal of magnetometers to allow his gun-slinging supporters to march to the Capitol. He said “they’re not here to hurt ME.”
Friend, this is not a drill. If we don’t punish the Republicans in Congress that went along with Trump’s coup, they will learn that there are no consequences for attacking our democracy.
Trump blamed Pence for failing to stop the certification of the election. When Trump heard chants of “Hang Mike Pence” he took no action - he thought Pence DESERVED it.
Violence was fomented. A noose was brought to the Capitol, and insurrectionists strapped spears to flagpoles used to assault Capitol police. Americans were killed.
This cannot go unanswered. No one is above the law. Trump and GOP members appear to be involved in a seditious conspiracy. They need to be held to account.
