The Court has delivered the American public a piercing wake up call, attacking not simply the reproductive freedom of women but the very idea of liberal democracy.
If democracy dies, it will take a long and mighty struggle to get it back. In the interim, the personal damage to millions of Americans will be irreparable.
In seeking to remedy the epidemic of mass shootings here in the U.S., it isn’t sufficient merely to pass strong gun laws. As critical as these may be, we also have to transform the dysfunctional social ethos that creates the conditions from which mass shooters emerge.
