Friend – since my daughter, Jaime, was murdered in the Parkland school shooting, I've dedicated my life to gun safety reform. And this news made me sick to my stomach:

Marco Rubio voted AGAINST a bipartisan gun safety bill. And just two days later, Trump-appointed Supreme Court justices ruled AGAINST a gun safety law.

I'm OUTRAGED that our country's leaders flat-out REFUSE to protect our communities from gun violence. There have been 269 mass shootings so far this year – and as long as far-right leaders remain in power, there will be more. That's why I'm working with Val Demings to help her defeat Rubio, protect our Democratic majority and confirm Supreme Court justices who believe in gun safety reform. Marco Rubio is a coward. Just a week after my daughter was murdered, I demanded that he protect children from gun violence – and he couldn't even look me in the eye. Since then, he's refused to work with Parkland survivors, he's voted to confirm Supreme Court justices who don't believe in gun safety – and he still refuses to take the bare minimum action to curb gun violence after an assault weapon killed 19 ELEMENTARY SCHOOL CHILDREN and two adults in Texas. 

I will do anything I can to replace Rubio with Val Demings, a gun safety champion that I trust to protect our schools and communities. Here's the problem: Rubio's dark money allies – including the gun lobby – will spend untold MILLIONS on deceitful attack ads to defeat Val Demings. 

The truth is, I believe Val Demings has the power to win – but only if more people like you and me chip in. That's why I promised the congresswoman that I'd help her raise another $20,000 for her Senate race – a race that experts are saying could decide Senate control.
