John, we are facing a moment of crisis for abortion rights and gender justice. This is an opportunity for the National Women’s Law Center to set a bold new agenda, so I hope you’ll give me a moment to explain what our legal and advocacy work looks like in the months ahead, and then chip in to help make it all possible.
Now that the Supreme Court has overturned Roe v. Wade, the future of abortion access, along with affordable child care, and financial security for women—especially Black and brown women and LGBTQ+ people—is on the line.
With your support, we’ve been at the front lines of the fight for gender equality and our fundamental rights for 50 years—and we need your help to fuel the fight for the next 50.
- Fighting for abortion always. No matter what the Supreme Court or state legislators do, people will always need abortion care. And we promise to work to build a world where abortion is always a right, always affordable, and always available.
- Pursuing policy changes to achieve workplace justice. The racist, sexist wage gap robs women of thousands of dollars every year and hundreds of thousands of dollars over their lifetimes. And pregnant workers are still being denied the most basic accommodations necessary to stay safe and healthy. That’s why we’re working to pass the Paycheck Fairness Act, the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act, and other critical pieces of legislation.
- Ensuring accessible and affordable health coverage. Our health care system must guarantee that people get the health care they need, free from discrimination and without cost as a barrier—and we have a lot more work to do to achieve that vision.
None of this work is possible without your support. So please, make a gift to the Law Center today while it will be matched, up to $15,000.
Sincerely,
Giselle Pole
