Across the country, the rich and corporations are swooping into local elections, seeking to control our rights and our democracy. Just this week, a Super PAC dropped $1.5 million of TV ads in our local TV market―completely saturating the airwaves.

In my re-election campaign, a billionaire-funded Super PAC has committed to spending at least $1 million in an attempt to defeat me and our movement for change.

At the same time, my sister-in-service, Rep. Ilhan Omar, is being out-raised by her opponent. In election after election, Ilhan has had to contend with challengers and ultraconservative groups spending millions to try and defeat her.

With early voting underway in our Democratic primaries, we need to be ready to respond to misinformation and negative attacks at a moment’s notice.
