Dear Friend,

As New York is transitioning to renewable energy systems, we’re raising our voices to make sure that transition equitably serves workers and the communities most impacted by the climate crisis.

So far, advocates like yourself have sent hundreds of comments to the Climate Action Council demanding that New York’s climate plan prioritizes justice for workers in the transition to a carbon-free economy.

This is the final week to submit comments. That means TODAY is your chance to raise your voice and ensure that New York creates green union jobs and that no worker is left behind.

As it stands, the current plan fails to fully address support for skilled trades workers. We want to see a Worker and Community Assurance Fund that provides direct payments to workers across sectors as well as communities that rely on fossil-fuel-dependent industries—and much, much more.

Use our Just Transition commenting tool today to make sure that the voice of workers is heard. With your help, we can make certain that the Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act (CLCPA) is implemented in a just way.

In solidarity,

Reyna Cohen

State Climate Policy Coordinator
