John --
Over the last few months, our campaign here in Illinois’ 1st district put everything we had into this race. But unfortunately, we didn’t cross the finish line.
Regardless of the outcome, I will forever be grateful for the outpouring of love and support I’ve received from this district and beyond. Even though we didn’t come out on top, the results show us that there is great support for progress.
The support this campaign received shows me that there are people in our communities who need a change. I’ve met people from all over the district who are struggling in their everyday lives. Whether it’s difficulty with finding employment or concerns about our kids’ education, these struggles show us that there is a need for real leadership.
We cannot let this moment keep us from continuing the work necessary to unlock our potential.
This campaign has faced many ups and downs, but we’ve shown everyone that reaching out a hand is the best way to make a change.
I promise all of you that I will continue to serve by working to create opportunity, change, and hope no matter what position I hold.
I am grateful for every lesson learned, every kind word, text, email and call. Most of all I’m grateful for your support of this campaign and belief in my ability to be the leader we need.
Onward and upward,
Karin M. Norington-Reaves
