Despite nearly abandoning his district, 25-year incumbent Danny Davis beat community organizer Kina Collins in the IL-07 primary last night.

This is just another example of how the Democratic establishment continues to outcast young, BIPOC, and working-class people. Kina Collins deserves this seat, and the people of Illinois’ 7th deserve better.

Make no mistake: Danny Davis won because once again the establishment fought for a Democrat who's missed over 1,000 votes instead of fighting alongside young people.

At this critical moment, President Biden and Leader Pelosi spent their time fighting us and protecting the establishment instead of delivering on reproductive justice.

We need new leadership and they are doing everything in their power to keep that from happening. And it will cost them.

Danny Davis, you won this election: now it’s time to take responsibility for how you show up in Congress. Stop missing votes. Start putting your district first.
