John,
Paul LePage isn’t the only threat to Mainers’ rights this year. The Maine GOP is full of extremist candidates running on a platform of banning abortion, criminalizing same-sex marriage, vilifying trans children to undermine public education, and much, much more.
Take a look at Heather Ann Sprague. This Republican candidate has blamed teachers for the Uvalde shooting, demonized trans people and students, and consistently shared anti-vax conspiracy theories throughout the pandemic.
The FEC end-of-quarter deadline is tomorrow and we need to stop the radical right from invading Maine. Will you help us stop the Maine GOP with a donation of $5, $10, $20.22, $50, $100 or whatever you can? [link removed]
Sprague’s conspiracies didn’t stop with just one post either. She took to Facebook again, this time ranting, “these shootings are on purpose to push gun control with the lives of babes. If they’re not getting shot they’re getting aborted.”
Heather Ann Sprague is just one of the deranged, dangerous, hateful, and harmful conspiracy theorists the Maine GOP has enlisted to run for office. We’re going to keep organizing in the state every day until the election, and we’re going to call out more of the GOP’s candidate slate in the coming weeks.
But we can’t do any of this without your support. Keeping extremism out of Maine is a fight that will need all hands on deck if we want to stay strong through November. Pitch in $5 now to support Maine Democrats ahead of this crucial fundraising deadline. [link removed]
