We’re happy to announce that two NewDem candidates – Dr. Yadira Caraveo and Brittany Pettersen – each secured the Democratic nomination in yesterday’s Colorado primaries!

Dr. Caraveo is running for Colorado’s 8th Congressional District, newly created due to the state’s population gains in the past decade. It will be an extremely competitive general election battle, but the DCCC has named her to their Red to Blue List – meaning she’s seen as one of the candidates with a path to defeat her GOP challenger in November.

Brittany Pettersen is running for the open seat currently held by NewDem Rep. Ed Perlmutter, who is retiring after serving eight terms in Congress. This is a rare opportunity to elect a new generation of leadership to a NewDem district, who will bring fresh ideas to Congress.

Winning these seats is a critical part of our strategy to defend our Democratic Majority. But with our list of winners growing, we need to make sure our fundraising numbers keep up.
