I wanted to make sure you saw the note from my good friend Deval Patrick, friend. Deval has a unique perspective when it comes to politics. Fifteen years ago, he shocked the Massachusetts political world by coming from behind to be elected as the first (and only) Black Governor of Massachusetts.
How’d he do it? He organized. Door by door, town by town, person by person – he showed up everywhere and built a coalition that couldn’t be beat. It’s the type of work that fires us up here at Groundwork.
We’re coming up on a critical filing deadline heading into the midterm elections. The money we have in the door will impact just how many organizers we can funnel resources to on the ground.
Our team needs to raise $50,000 before Thursday at midnight to reach our goal. Can I ask you to give $50 (our average contribution) today? [[link removed]]
More from Deval Patrick below!
Thank you,
Joe

Dear friend,
As a civil rights attorney — and as a patriot — GOP efforts to undermine voting rights, reproductive rights, the rights of LGBTQ+ people and everybody’s economic mobility are deeply concerning.
But as an improbable but successful candidate for governor, I know that ordinary people, taking active responsibility for their own civic future, can change politics in every corner of our country.
That is why Groundwork Project’s mission to create long-term citizen engagement in traditionally overlooked states is so vital to a better America for all of us.

Joe Kennedy and I have worked closely together in Massachusetts politics. He shows up in places where others don't. He understands that making sure every person is seen, heard and counted isn't some empty political tactic – it's the fundamental promise that makes us Americans. It’s also what makes Joe and me Democrats.
Groundwork Project is inspired by the same philosophy that moves my work at BridgeTogether: voters everywhere , not just in so-called battleground states, need to be encouraged to shape their own futures — especially in the face of today’s egregious attacks on our democracy — and supported as they do.
2022 is a big election year. By investing early and committing to long-term support, Groundwork Project is helping build critical infrastructure in the Deep South, Appalachia, and the Plains, for the future we can shape through elections — in 2022 and beyond.
Groundwork Project is a worthy cause. Join me in giving now to support the communities who aren’t always heard. [[link removed]]
Thank you,
Deval Patrick
Former Governor of Massachusetts
> Founded by Joe Kennedy III, Groundwork Project invests in year-round, local community organizing in places Democrats have gotten used to writing off. With a focus on Appalachia, the Deep South, and the Plains, we support local advocates and activists working to build durable political infrastructure and secure power for those historically excluded.
