John,

Flipping Iowa red to blue this November is going to require doing things differently than we have in the past, especially when it comes to fundraising. We can’t — and shouldn’t — rely on corporate PACs, special interests, and a small group of large donors to fund our campaigns.

That’s why we’re focused on building a grassroots fundraising operation that is empowering to all donors. These sustained funds allow us to make earlier, meaningful investments into year-round organizing rather than just late-in-the-game paid communications like TV ads and direct mail pieces.

As part of our sustaining donor program, we hold special events for our supporters who have an active monthly contribution. I hope you saw my note about my birthday breakfast next month, and I’m excited to share that our next sustaining donor appreciation event will be a pre-breakfast reception on Sunday, July 31st.

This event is exclusively for sustaining supporters of the Senate Majority Fund. All you need to do to attend is commit today to a monthly contribution of any amount — even $3 makes a difference! — and of course, I hope you’ll stick around for the birthday breakfast as well! You can click here to join us as a sustaining donor and RSVP to the pre-breakfast reception now.

I am looking forward to connecting with supporters like you who are committed to electing Iowa Democrats. If you are unable to attend, please know how grateful all of us here at the Senate Majority Fund are to have you on our team.

Hope to see you there,
Zach
