Hi John,

I wanted to reach out to you about my husband, Hank.

He’s been working incredibly hard lately, laser-focused on reforming the Supreme Court, especially amid their historic barrage against civil rights and liberties this term. But he’s also intent to represent Georgians with every fiber of his being and to make sure he’s doing all he can to help elect progressives in state government.

Honestly, with the added anxiety of his reelection campaign, he’s working through a mountain of stress. You and I can’t go to DC and rally votes in Congress for Hank’s court reform bills. We can’t represent the people of Georgia’s fourth district. Some things Hank has to do on his own. He was elected to do them, and he takes his duty to his constituents seriously.

Hank’s campaign manager Carole (I think you know her from other emails) let me know that we’re still $2,592 short of the goal for the end of June. We’re both worried about what will happen if Hank has to scale back the campaign because of a fundraising shortfall.

Gratefully yours,
Mereda
