Take King the lion ( [link removed] ) – just a lonely, terrified cub when he was rescued from the cruel pet trade in France, 2017. But, with the help of his wonderful adopters, just look at him now…

King was only months’ old when found alone in a Paris flat – half starved and cowering in a dirty cage. Kept illegally as an exotic pet, shocking social media footage had shown him being punched and kicked. 

But, with your help, King’s life was transformed. Together, we took him ‘home’ to our sanctuary in South Africa, where he’ll have loving care for life in a spacious bush enclosure.

Here, where nature intended, he recovered. And, the lonely lion now has an affectionate companion – Thea, also rescued from France’s pet trade.
