Gov. Whitmer has a plan to protect abortion

Team:

It is absolutely necessary that we reelect Governor Gretchen Whitmer in November.

Newspaper clip with an NPR logo and excerpt that reads: In Michigan, the right to an abortion is teetering. Republicans who control the state legislature want to enforce a 1931 abortion ban that's still on the books. Democrats, including Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, have vowed not to let that happen.

Governor Gretchen Whitmer is the leader we need to fight for reproductive freedom now that abortion rights are no longer protected nationwide.

Not only did Governor Gretchen Whitmer proactively file a lawsuit to stop an old 1931 state law from going into effect that would criminalize abortion, but she has a plan to expand abortion access to all who need one.

Reelecting Governor Gretchen Whitmer will determine whether Michigan remains one of the most hostile states in America to people making reproductive decisions or if Michigan becomes an example of reproductive freedom for the nation.
