Friends, Andrea Salinas is a working mom, a longtime community advocate, and a state legislator. She’s running in Oregon’s brand-new 6th Congressional District – one of Democrats’ top pick-up opportunities this year – and she was just named to the DCCC’s Red to Blue list.
Andrea is approaching her first end-of-quarter deadline in the general election, and it couldn’t be coming at a more important time. When the fundraising quarter ends, Andrea’s team will open up their books to the Federal Election Commission for the first time as the Democratic nominee. Republicans will scour the books, looking for any sign of weakness in her campaign. Will you chip in to help ensure she has a strong report?
With the Supreme Court overturning the right to an abortion, it’s clear there’s a lot at stake in this election. Republicans have signaled they’ll work to pass a nationwide ban on abortion if they take control of the House. We can’t risk that. Andrea is fighting for the right to choose, and we need more women like her in Congress. I won’t sugarcoat it. Protecting our Democratic House Majority will come down to races just like Andrea’s. Now that Andrea’s race has been added to the competitive red to blue list, it’s clear that this is a district we can (and must) win. So please – I wouldn’t be asking if it wasn’t important.
