Meteorologist and Democratic candidate for Congress, Eric Sorensen, here. We did it! The voters of IL-17 have put science first and selected me as the Democratic nominee to keep this seat blue in November. From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU… I couldn’t have done this without you, friend.

From day one this campaign has been about three things: trust, science, and communication. Talking with voters across the district, that’s what they want to see in their next Representative too. And friend, our work is about so much more than this election, it’s about November, it’s about keeping IL-17 blue. 

And from day one it’s been about building a storm cloud (sorry, I mean team)! Because I can’t do this work alone, nor would I want to. So friend, thank you for being on the team that’s going to keep IL-17 blue. 

We know what’s at stake, we saw it on Friday. A lot of Republicans in toss-up seats kept silent. Not Esther Joy King (our Republican opponent)... she applauded the Supreme Court. 

For two decades, I kept my community safe by keeping them ahead of severe weather. Now it’s time to make sure that they have a trusted Representative in Congress.
