Dear Friend,

Mitch McConnell is having a very, very bad year. First, Democrats took
control of the House of Representatives, ending any hope by McConnell of
passing anything to advance his far-right agenda. Then a wave of polls
came out showing that he is the #1 most unpopular member of the entire
U.S. Senate. Mitch McConnell is in serious danger of losing
reelection—but he'll spend millions to attack his opponents and distract
the media from issues that matter. We're focused every day on the
real-world consequences of McConnell's failed policies. Will you make a
donation to help make sure Kentucky voters can get the facts on issues
that matter?

Voters in Kentucky know that Mitch McConnell hasn't been on their side.
The latest polls show that 60% of Kentuckians say "it's time for someone
new" in the Senate—a stunningly high number for a Republican in a red
state. In his time in the Senate, he's fought to shovel gigantic tax
cuts to the richest of the rich and gut protections for workers and the
environment, and he has supported cuts to Medicaid and Social Security,
and led the opposition to any campaign finance-laws that limit the role
of money in politics. In other words, he's screwed over the people of
Kentucky again and again and again.

But the mainstream media remains fixated on the horse race coverage,
largely ignoring McConnell's actual policy record. And McConnell is a
master of distracting the media from the failures of his policies. He'll
do whatever it takes to stay in power, including spending tens of
millions of dollars on attack ads and using racist appeals to divide the
working people who are losing out under his leadership. At Common
Dreams, we're keeping the focus where it belongs: on issues. We won't
give McConnell a pass or allow him to distract us from the consequences
of his policy agenda. Next year, the people of Kentucky face a big
question: whether to reelect Mitch McConnell or not. Will you make a
donation to help Common Dreams provide substantive coverage of
McConnell's record to make sure voters have the information they need to
decide based on policy, not phony controversies and racial dog whistles?
