# [#] John,
Philadelphia is experiencing a gun violence crisis, and we can no longer wait to enact legislation that will make our city safer for our children. This is why I have offered legislation that would require the reporting of body armor sales by both the vendor and the buyer.
The data is in: When there is a mass shooting, there is a high probability that body armor was used by the perpetrator. My bill closes a loophole in unregistered weapons sales by ensuring that body armor purchases are reported, helping to determine which individuals are in possession of high-capacity weapons, and preventing these senseless tragedies from ever occurring.
Although it’s now summer, my work is ongoing. This Thursday, I will face my most critical quarterly fundraising deadline of 2022, where I will have the opportunity to raise money to support my efforts as your Councilmember.
This fundraising deadline is approaching quickly, and I still have ways to go until I reach my fundraising goal. Will you chip in $10 today to help get me where I need to be? [[link removed]]
