Thursday, June 30 marks the first public fundraising deadline in our general election match up against Doug LaMalfa. After this deadline hits, everyone -- the press, pundits, even Doug LaMalfa himself -- will be watching closely to see if we have what it takes to win.

Here's the truth:

After last week's Supreme Court disaster, our best shot at reinstating our constitutional rights is to keep the House and stop the likes of Kevin McCarthy from gaining any more control in Congress. Only five seats stand in the GOP's way, but the good news is that redistricting has made CD-01 one of the Democrats' best pickup opportunities in the state. A win here could mean stopping them dead in their tracks.

This is our chance to show guys like LaMalfa that they will be held accountable. Please chip in $3 before my end-of-quarter deadline to help us reach more Democrats and stop the Republicans from taking the House.
