John, this is urgent: if we do not act quickly to elect pro-choice DAs, more women will be prosecuted for seeking abortions.
We have 3 DA races coming up fast which collectively represent nearly 6 million people in states where abortion is already banned or likely to be banned soon.
If we don’t raise enough to defend these DAs against their well-funded conservative opponents, then women in these districts could be sent to jail for having abortions.
It’s not just women who will suffer the consequences. Providers – those willing to provide an abortion will also be prosecuted.
Anti-choice DAs could use text messages, internet search history, and period tracking apps to build their cases.
Women could face serious fines, jail time, and providers could also be prosecuted and have their medical licenses revoked.
It’s up to District Attorneys to decide. That’s why we are working hard to elect DAs who will refuse to prosecute abortion cases.
We could save women from prosecution by doing the work now – to protect and elect more pro-choice DAs. But we need the funds to help their campaigns:
Thank you,
Real Justice
