If the stakes in November weren't already sky-high, they are now.

With the Supreme Court wiping out 50 years of precedent protecting a woman's right to choose last Friday, women's health and reproductive freedom will be on the ballot in November. Our response must be more than an electoral one – but the reality is, we need a Democratic majority in the House and an expanded majority in the Senate to codify Roe.

Suburban districts like ours will be the ones deciding who will set the agenda for the next two years, both here in Minnesota and in Washington, D.C. Whatever else we do in the meantime, we must create a rising tide that will lift the boats of pro-choice candidates at the state level and make sure that Minnesota's Third District stays blue in November.

That's why our end-of-month deadline is now more important than ever.

There is no shortage of worthy candidates and causes before you, and I'm sure you're hearing from all of them. I hope you will do whatever you can to support them, whether it be through contributions of time or treasure. But we also need you on the DeanTeam.

Our district helped deliver a Democratic majority in Congress and a DFL majority in the state House in 2018. Both of those majorities are in jeopardy today – and history is not on our side.

But we can make history again. Together – Democrats, independents, and principled Republicans – we can send a message that we will not tolerate hate, fear, and oppression. We, and districts like ours, can show those who would further roll back our rights and threaten our very democracy that the majority of Americans are standing united for freedom and justice.
