The Indiana Nursing Education, Engagement, and Diversity Statewide Initiative (NEEDS), initially funded by the Campaign for Action’s Nursing Innovations Fund, shows how holistic admissions is working—that strategy that, as the American Association of Colleges of Nursing puts it, “assesses an applicant’s unique experiences alongside traditional measures.” The success earned the NEEDS program a $2.2 million grant from HRSA.
Project RARE (Reciprocal, Authentic, Relationships for Equity) planned to combine forces with an array of partners to improve health equity with its Innovations Fund award in 2020.
