John,
Every day, I am thankful for the opportunity to serve in Congress and continue working for my community and the country I love.
On January 6, that sentiment came into stark relief for me. During the assault on the Capitol, I was in the House chamber as insurrectionists violently tried to enter. Yet after a few harrowing hours, my colleagues and I returned to the House chamber to perform our constitutional duty of certifying the 2020 election.
Unfortunately, my Republican opponent does not share this sense of duty to our country and our constitution. She called the violent insurrection “actually a group of Americans exercising their First Amendment rights” and claimed the insurrectionists have been “persecuted” and “shamed” for their role in attempting to undermine our democracy.
I have defended our democracy as a federal law enforcement officer, CIA counterterrorism officer, and a member of Congress. I’m ready to carry on that mission with your support.
Our first FEC deadline of the general election is in two days, and we need to post a strong total to show that we have the momentum in this race. Please, consider contributing any amount right away to show your support.

I am truly grateful to serve at this time in our nation’s history. I thank all of you for standing with me,
Abigail
