Dear John,
Last week, the U.S. Forest Service released their environmental study on sulfide-ore copper mining in the watershed of the Boundary Waters. This is the critical study we’ve been waiting for.
It definitively concludes that sulfide-ore copper mining would be a disaster for the Boundary Waters on many levels, and the Forest Service is now recommending a 20-year ban on sulfide-ore copper mining next to the Boundary Waters!
This is fantastic news for canoe country, but now, the Forest Service needs to know whether you support their findings, which demonstrate the need to protect the Boundary Waters.
Sign your name supporting a ban on sulfide-ore mining near the Boundary Waters.
You have 30 days to support the science of this hard-hitting report, so be sure to add your name today. We need to show widespread support for this study and for the proposed mining ban, but we have only until July 28 to gather as many names as possible. |
