I have just 15 free minutes today, and Tina asked me to reach out to you, john. I’ve been busy reaching out to voters around Minnesota's 2nd Congressional District and fighting for working families in Congress, so any amount of uninterrupted time is rare.
Don’t get me wrong, I love my job and driving across town in my Jeep Wrangler and talking with folks about what’s on their mind. But I’m grateful for this gap in my schedule so I can share a bit more about why I’m running for re-election — and ask for your support ahead of the big quarterly FEC deadline. [[link removed]]
These days, too many hardworking people are struggling to succeed in a system that’s stacked against them. The cost of education and technical training is too high and wages are too low. Quality, affordable health care is hard to access and prescription drugs are wildly expensive. So many folks I talk to in MN-02 are struggling to afford everyday necessities like gas and groceries.
Meanwhile, some members of Congress make matters worse by caving to special interests.
That’s why I’m running to continue my work to make sure the voices of folks in MN-02 and across the country are always put above those of special interests — from fighting to lower everyday costs for families to acting to address gun violence.
So it is no surprise that conservative super PACs are spending millions to get rid of me and replace me with Republican Tyler Kistner — who only lost to me by 2.2% in 2020. Now, he’s back for a rematch in a race that major pundits are calling a total toss-up.
john, before I get back to my busy day, I’m hoping you’ll help me meet my 3,500-contribution goal before the public FEC deadline so I can stay on track to win this race and defend the Democratic majority while I’m at it: Can you split a donation of any amount between my campaign and Tina Smith right now? I grew up in a mobile park and worked my way through college. I’m not your typical member of Congress — and I won’t disappoint you like one. Every day, I’m fighting to deliver results, and I can’t thank you enough for chipping in so I can stay in Congress and continue this work.
Thanks for your support.
