We’re up against a growing fascist movement to control and police our bodies. And we need to fight back.

Many of the same states trying to criminalize pregnant people are also trying to criminalize trans people, in intertwined attacks on everyone’s bodily autonomy. Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas just laid out a vision for the Supreme Court to overturn our rights to contraception, to same-sex marriage, and to sexual privacy in our own homes.

We’re in the fight for our lives and for our human rights, and this is just the beginning. We need bold federal action right now, including expanding the Supreme Court and ending the filibuster to protect our rights through legislation.

But establishment Democrats aren’t acting with the urgency we need, and are failing to use the power that Democrats have right now in Congress. In this dangerous time, we need to use every avenue possible. To fight back, we need a mass movement of people in the streets, and we need progressive visionaries like Rashida alongside them in Congress.
