Dear A.,

Seven months ago, AIPAC introduced a new political strategy to help us strengthen the U.S.-Israel relationship.

Our work together has made a dramatic impact.

- The AIPAC PAC has proudly supported 329 pro-Israel candidates—Democrats and Republicans alike.

- More than 4,000 AIPAC members have contributed over $11.5 million to support pro-Israel candidates through the AIPAC PAC and AIPAC Political Portal.

- And United Democracy Project, the AIPAC-backed Super PAC, has helped defeat five anti-Israel candidates running for Congress.

Together we are strengthening bipartisan support for the U.S.-Israel relationship.

So far, 98% of our featured candidates—Democrats and Republicans—have won their primary elections.

Below my signature are eight key primary races we were engaged in to help the pro-Israel candidate win. In each race, our community supported the pro-Israel candidate against their anti-Israel opponent.

We are just at the beginning of the long-term political fight before us. Together, we will continue to support our pro-Israel friends and work to defeat anti-Israel detractors.

I look forward to continuing our important work together.

Sincerely,

Philip Friedman

AIPAC General Counsel and Director of Political Operations

Shontel Brown (D-OH-11)

Rep. Shontel Brown is a strong pro-Israel Democrat who narrowly defeated a nationally known anti-Israel candidate in a come-from-behind special election victory last summer. Propelled by support from the pro-Israel community, and backed by President Biden, the Congressional Black Caucus and the Congressional Progressive Caucus, Brown handedly won re-election by 33 points.
Rep. Shontel Brown's anti-Israel opponent aspired to be the next member of the Squad, and was supported by Bernie Sanders, Rashida Tlaib and AOC.

Don Davis (D-NC-01)

On March 10, pro-Israel candidate State Senator Don Davis' internal poll showed him trailing his anti-Israel opponent by 14 points. AIPAC and the pro-Israel community engaged in the race, and paved the way for support from House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, the Congressional Black Caucus and former CBC Chair Rep. G. K. Butterfield.

Don Davis came from behind in the polls to win by 32 points.

His anti-Israel opponent — backed by J Street and the Sunrise Movement — was one of only three North Carolina state senators to vote against the state's anti-BDS bill. She would have joined the Squad if elected to Congress.

Valerie Foushee (D-NC-04)

Pro-Israel candidate Valerie Foushee received substantial political support from the pro-Israel community, helping her defeat her anti-Israel opponent by nine points.
Foushee's opponent had a long record of animus towards the Jewish state, including calling for an end to U.S. support for Israel and advocacy for BDS. She was backed by Bernie Sanders, Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar.

Rep. David Scott (D-GA-13)

Rep. David Scott has been a strong supporter of the U.S.-Israel relationship in Congress, and an ardent opponent of Iran’s quest for nuclear capabilities. He cruised to victory in Georgia's Democratic Primary after narrowly prevailing only two years ago.
Scott defeated a candidate strongly supported by Bernie Sanders.

Morgan McGarvey (D-KY-03)

Pro-Israel candidate Morgan McGarvey defeated his anti-Israel opponent to replace retiring Rep. John Yarmouth, who has frequently spearheaded J Street legislative initiatives during his time in office.
McGarvey defeated a state representative who has been outspoken in her criticism of Israel, including at a rally in Louisville in May 2021 to condemn Israel’s actions during the Gaza conflict.

Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-TX-28)

Rep. Henry Cuellar has been a stalwart supporter of the U.S.-Israel relationship in Congress, and a vocal leader backing Israel's right to defend itself from Iranian-backed terrorism. AIPAC members and the AIPAC-backed super PAC provided significant support for Congressman Cuellar.
Rep. Cuellar won by just 290 votes against an anti-Israel candidate who was backed by Bernie Sanders, AOC, J Street and Justice Democrats.

Mayor Robert Garcia (D-CA-42)

In southern California, pro-Israel candidate Robert Garcia placed first in his primary with 45 percent of the vote as a result of significant support from the pro-Israel community.
With the support of AIPAC, he defeated a state assemblywoman who was the only legislator to oppose an anti-BDS bill in a 2016 committee vote.

Rep. Dina Titus (D-NV-01)

Rep. Dina Titus, a strong supporter of the U.S.-Israel relationship in Congress, defeated Bernie Sanders' state campaign chair by a wide margin.
Her opponent was the sixth Sanders-endorsed candidate to lose to a pro-Israel candidate so far this election cycle.

The mission of AIPAC is to encourage and persuade the U.S. government to enact specific policies that create a strong, enduring and mutually beneficial relationship with our ally Israel.
