For the first time ever, the U.S. Supreme Court took away a fundamental right.

In its ruling, the Court upheld a Mississippi ban on abortion after 15 weeks of pregnancy and said states can ban abortion at any point in pregnancy. This radical roll back of reproductive freedom reverses 50 years of the Court's precedent and will likely result in half the states further restricting or banning abortion.

Right now, we are facing the greatest threat to abortion rights in the U.S. in generations. Make an urgent gift of $35 or more by June 30 and it will be immediately matched TEN TO ONE by a generous Center donor.

This rush to ban abortion is creating extreme chaos across the country as people, providers, clinics, and abortion funds struggle to deal with new and extreme preexisting bans—and clinics in surrounding states attempt to absorb a huge influx of patients.

Since the Court's decision, the Center for Reproductive Rights and our partners have taken swift legal action to try to restore abortion access in Arizona, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas. We are already seeing the impact of our collaborative efforts. Yesterday, Louisiana's 'trigger' laws were temporarily blocked by a state court in response to our lawsuit, and abortion care can now resume in the state. And today, Texas's pre-Roe ban has been temporarily blocked in response to our lawsuit.
