This week has been an eventful one. As you know, the Supreme Court handed down its final decision in Dobbs v. Jackson, overturning Roe v. Wade. We’ve known this decision was likely for some time now, but it doesn’t lessen the sting of our new reality. Many Americans haven’t known a world without Roe until now, and the majority of Americans didn’t want it to be overturned. This decision goes against the will of the people. Instead, it’s the result of decades of anti-choice extremists and politicians’ chipping away at our reproductive rights.
This isn’t the end though. With Lizzie in office, we know we have leaders in our corner fighting for our values — including reproductive freedom. Lizzie voted to make Roe law in all 50 states and she’s working to protect access to reproductive care for Texans and Americans everywhere. She’s going to continue that fight for as long as it takes to restore our most fundamental rights.
And right now, the way to do that is to win elections. There is simply no other way to protect, and in states like ours restore, these fundamental rights than to elect people who will do so. We need a pro-choice majority in Congress and in state houses across the country.
Reproductive rights are on the ballot in November, and this team is going to do everything we can to elect pro-choice champions. We have 19 weeks to go.
