Hi John,
We're in a climate crisis - a lot of people know that to change course we need to ditch fossil fuels, but there's something else that's key to getting us out of this mess.
Our oceans. They're crucial for our planet's survival. Healthy oceans, that are full of life, absorb carbon and help keep the planet cool [1]. Which is one more reason we urgently need to protect them.
Not enough people know how important our oceans are in the fight against climate change, or that they need protecting. Will you help change this by sharing this video?

John, you and almost 250,000 people have signed the petition calling for greater ocean protection. Governments are meeting in March next year to decide the fate of our oceans, and ahead of this we need even more people to show their support.
A Global Ocean Treaty that properly protects our oceans isn't in the bag yet - and so it's vital we keep up the pressure on governments to do the right thing. But right now, most people are in the dark about just how important the oceans are to our future.
Every one of us depends on healthy oceans. They not only produce half our oxygen - but because marine life soaks up and stores huge amounts of carbon dioxide, our oceans are also one of our best defences against climate change [2].
We need to spread the word so that when people talk about tackling the climate crisis, they're talking about protecting our oceans too. This video explains why.

If we look after the ocean, it'll keep looking after us.
Thanks for all you do.
