As a nurse, I've been trained to care, to listen, to problem solve – not to lead with anger or emotion. But right now, I am angry, John.

Just a few days ago, extremists on the Supreme Court overturned nearly 50 years of precedent and stripped away abortion rights for millions of Americans. This decision is the direct consequence of partisans in Washington using dishonesty and lies to grab power.

You see, Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh, and Amy Coney Barrett swore to tell the truth to the Senate, and under that oath, they said they believed Roe was settled precedent.

Then these very same justices stripped away millions of people’s right to choose and their right to determine their own future. It is clear that they misled the Senate and the American public for the sole purpose of receiving a lifelong appointment to the highest court in our country.

You can see so much of what is wrong with Washington in this decision – the dishonesty, the partisanship, and the disrespect. The court's actions infuriate me – but they also motivate me to do everything within my power to undo this terrible ruling.

You have my word that as senator, I will always defend abortion access and the right to choose. I will lead with honesty and tell you the truth. I will put people before politics every time.

I know that Missouri is ready for that kind of leader, but I cannot win without a strong base of grassroots support. That's why I'm reaching out to you: Please will you pitch in $5 right now to send compassion, honesty, and integrity to Washington?
