Dear Friend,
Ruth’s List Florida is excited to announce two new endorsements — Shan Rose for House District 41 and Rita Harris for House District 44. With the Supreme Court’s decision last week to overturn Roe v. Wade, rolling back 50 years of abortion rights, it’s now more important than ever we send Shan and Rita to Tallahassee.
If elected, Shan Rose would make history as the first Democratic woman, first Black woman, and the youngest candidate to ever represent this seat. She is an award-winning grassroots community organizer and founder of Change For the Community (CFTC), a non-profit that helps provide solutions to pressing community issues like youth advocacy, hunger, and homelessness. Shan is a recipient of President Biden’s Lifetime Achievement Award for her commitment to building a stronger nation through volunteer service.
Rita Harris is a longtime community activist, who has fought for Democratic values her entire life, serving as president of the Democratic Women’s Club, and volunteering with Planned Parenthood helping women get access to essential health care services. As a mother who has lived in the area for 20 years, she knows firsthand how the central Florida community has changed, and the investment the community needs to ensure every family has their best chance at a brighter future.
By making a contribution today, you can help ensure Shan and Rita have the resources to win and help us reclaim our reproductive rights in Florida! Donate here or click on the graphic below.
